Dr Twalumba Nkwilimba

Podiatric Surgeon

Twalumba is a University of Western Australia graduate. She completed a Bachelor of Podiatric Medicine degree in 2012 and postgraduate Doctor of Clinical Podiatry degree in 2021. In addition to the UWA Podiatric Surgery Clinic Twalumba spent time in New York and Shanghai advancing her skill set. She is an AHPRA registered podiatric surgeon and podiatrist, a UWA Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Supervisor and a member of Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons.

Twalumba enjoys all aspects of podiatric medicine, her key interests are podiatric surgery, foot biomechanics and orthotic therapy. She brings a youthful, evidence-based and wholistic approach to the practice. Her attention to detail ensures the best outcome for every patient. She empowers patients with relevant knowledge and treatment from conservative to surgical management.

Twalumba has a passion for health, fitness and travel. She has numerous hobbies including yoga and paddle boarding.

Julie Hodder-Potter

Senior Podiatrist

Julie is a dedicated and highly qualified podiatrist with over 20 years of experience. Julie graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science (Podiatry) in 1999. She has extensive experience in both the private and public sectors and has worked with many other allied health professionals including Physiotherapists, Chiropractors, and Osteopaths.

Julie had her own private practice in Kalgoorlie for over 10 years. Besides an extensive private practice caseload involving common and complex foot conditions, she also ran the high-risk diabetic foot clinic at Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital and was part of the integral health service at Bega Garnbirringu Indigenous Medical Health Centre which also included clinics with visiting Ophthalmologists and Urologists. She also serviced the local nursing homes and provided in-home care for Silver Chain clients. Julie was also part of the allied health team that provided assessment and services to high-risk clients in the communities of the local lands via the RFDS.

Since returning to Perth, Julie has worked in private practice and completed further post-graduate studies. Her focus is on the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based foot care with a special interest in biomechanics, ingrown toenails, paediatric foot conditions, nail pathology, and dermatological foot conditions. Julie offers professional service in a kind and friendly manner.

Outside of work, she has a busy life with three children, two dogs and two cats. She is passionate about animal welfare and is a writer for several blogs. She was born and raised on a sheep station and regularly goes back to the Goldfields to see family and friends.

Alaric

Alaric Arokiasamy

Podiatrist

Playing sports competitively growing up, Alaric had always struggled with lower leg, foot and ankle issues. After numerous consultations and seeing various specialists, the treatment provided by a podiatrist brought the most relief. This experience inspired Alaric to take up the profession and have the same sort of impact and patient satisfaction in his practice.

Alaric is a highly skilled podiatrist specializing in Podiatric Sports Medicine with experience treating elite athletes. He obtained his undergraduate qualification from Cardiff and further pursued his postgraduate studies in Podiatric Sports and Exercise Medicine from Queen Mary University of London.

His postgraduate studies in the field involved sessions with the Chelsea FC physiotherapy team. It also involved him working alongside the best sports medicine physicians, physiotherapists, podiatric  surgeons and other healthcare professionals in the UK. The time spent
working at the Canterbury Cricket ground has also given him experience working with athletes at a very high level.

Born and raised in Malaysia, Alaric has always been exposed to a diverse range of customs, cultures and even languages. He fluently speaks English, Malay and understands Tamil well. He is passionate at helping people and enjoys doing so the best way he knows how, through podiatry.

Alaric has experience in the public and private sector from his time in the UK. He has treated patients from all walks of life, from younger children to the older population. His skills in gait and running analysis were developed from working in specialist shoe stores throughout his time as a podiatry student. Alaric also enjoys treating general podiatric issues with a special interest in nail surgery.

In his free time, Alaric enjoys going to the gym, playing football and futsal. He is looking forward to travelling and exploring more of Western Australia.

Elrica Miranda

Podiatrist

Elrica completed her post-graduate Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at The University of Western Australia in 2021. She completed a Bachelor of Science (Medical Sciences) from The University of Western Australia in 2019.

Elrica is friendly and approachable and her passion for Podiatry is apparent. She enjoys all aspects of podiatry including biomechanics and orthotics, ingrown toenails management and diabetic foot care. She always aims for the best outcome using evidence-based practice and her clinical expertise to devise tailored treatments plans.

Elrica is passionate about continued professional development and strives to increase her skill set and provide the highest quality treatments. She strongly believes healthy feet are the key to living a healthy and active life.

Outside of work you’ll find Elrica playing tennis, snorkelling, cooking or curled up watching her favourite TV shows.

Janet O’Brien

Practice Manager

Janet joined the practice in June 2022 and is responsible for overseeing the day to day running of the practice. Janet and the reception team are here to welcome and assist in creating a positive experience at Canning Vale Podiatry & Podiatric Surgery Clinic.

Outside of the practice Janet is a busy mum of two girls as well as a wife to a FIFO husband. Her uber skills are on point chauffeuring them to dance, sports and many airport runs. Above all Janet enjoys spending time with her family, friends, caravanning, camping and CrossFit.
